Our church services are filled with prayers, songs, readings and speaking, but we recognise that our prayer flows from encountering God in silence. So while we know the presence of God in the daily ebb and flow of our lives, taking time to listen to God in silence is a key to our growth.

We seek to strengthen these times of personal prayer in our services with moments of quiet, as in our time of reflection following the sermon. We also have an extended time of silence in our night prayer on Tuesday evenings.
We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls. St Teresa of Calcutta
